Discovering Roman Lincoln at the Lincoln Museum, 1 Danes Terrace at 2.30pm. A tale of legionnaires, priests, families and farmers given by Dr Adam Daubney, the Finds Specialist. Cancer Support Parkrun Event at 9am at Belton House. Have you, or someone you know, been affected by cancer? Are you looking to engage in more physical activity in a supportive environment? Then come and join this run, although if you don't want to run you can walk or jog. There is free parking and toilets and cafe facilities are available. Meet at the main front steps of Belton House 5 - 10 minutes before the run begins.


Historic May Day and Green Man Festival in the Market Place, Market Rasen. This is a new event which draws on some of the old customs of the Green Man Festival but is a modern May Day celebration. Admission is free.


Social Dance at Branston Booths Village Hall from 7.30 - 10.30pm. Tea and coffee will be served in the interval but you are welcome to bring your own refreshments. Tickets are £5 per person.


Coffee morning in Saxilby Village Hall from 10am - 12 noon in aid of Multiple System Atrophy Trust. Tea, coffee and biscuits are £1 and squash is 50p. There are cakes, jigsaws, preserves and books plus tombola and a raffle. A friendly and welcoming event for all ages - come in for a natter. There are also History group display boards and parish councillors attending.


Revolting Children free musical theatre workshop at Alford Corn Exchange from 11.30am - 2pm. This event is for children aged 6 - 16 years with Olivia Burton who is a final year musical theatre student. Booking is essential by emailing owadmin@alfordhub.co.uk.


Craft Fayre at Heckington Village Hall from 10am - 2pm. Come and take a look at some of the wonderful work created by local craft artists. Refreshments will be available including tea, coffee and cans of soft drink.

Heron Watch at Hartsholme Country Park from 11am - 4pm. Come along and see the handsome herons. Binoculars and telescopes are available from the Lincoln Local RSPB Group to catch a glimpse of the herons and their young at the nest sites. Join them at the lakeside. The Mayor of Louth presents a fun packed variety show at the Riverhead Theatre, Victoria Road, Louth at 2pm. A delightful afternoon of entertainment including singers, dancers, comedians and some very special guest stars. The show also features the talents of Louth's own school of dance. Tickets are £15 and all proceeds will go to support local charities.


Sutton Railway Group Modeller's Fair from 10am - 4pm at the Meridale Centre, High Street, Sutton on Sea. Displays include model railway layouts, static engines, dolls houses, dioramas and aircraft. Admission is £2 and under 12s are free. Refreshments are available.


Drive it Day at 12 noon for a 12.30pm start. You will be asked to search for clues on a mystery route starting at Daisy Made Ice Cream on Lincoln Road, Skellingthorpe, and finishing with an afternoon tea. Informal monthly classic vehicle meeting at The Ivy's Farm Shop, located just off the A17 between Swineshead Bridge and Bicker Bar roundabout. Come and join like minded enthusiasts for a chat, drink or a meal on the decking. The event is from 5 - 8.30pm with last food orders at 8pm. You can come and go as you wish. Celebrate Nocton's History at 7pm in Nocton Hub. A talk given by Robert Howard showing his original portrait of Albinia, Countess of Buckinghamshire. The band of the Royal Air Force College perform a special concert in the awe-inspiring setting of Lincoln Cathedral to celebrate the 20th anniversary of the RAF Music Charitable Trust. Open garden at 23 Accommodation Road, Horncastle from 11am - 4pm on both days. A medium sized garden which mixes flowers with fruit, and places to sit and admire the fish pond and flowers. There is also a range of iris, perennials, auriculas and alpines. Plenty to see and enjoy. Admission is £3.50 for adults and children are free.


Saturday 11th and Sunday 12th May

West Lindsey Open Churches Festival at St Lawrence Church, Bardney from 10am - 4pm on both days. There will be plant and craft stalls, tombola and refreshments of soup and roll, cakes, tea and coffee. There will be a display by Bardney History Group and also a display of stones from Bardney Abbey, plus musical interludes. From 11am - 12 noon relaxing harp music will be played by Eira Lynn Jones, a professional harpist, and from 2 - 3pm a varied selection of music played by church organist Paul Savage.

Milling Day at Cogglesford Mill, East Road, Sleaford from 12 - 3.30pm. Experience history in action and witness traditional milling techniques as staff and volunteers mill flour and answer your questions. Admission is free but donations are welcome.


Bomber County Charity Concert at The Masonic Rooms, Watergate, Sleaford at 7pm performed by Miller Magic Big Band under the direction of Jim McQuade BEM. Tickets are £10 each and are available from Moore & Scrupps Jewellers and Sleaford Jewellers. They are also available on the door. All profits will be donated to RAFA Cranwell Branch Wings Appeal.


Scampton Open Garden Event in aid of Hedgehog Care, Louth and disabled animal charity Broken Biscuits. To be held at 4 and 5 Manor Farm Court, which is opposite the Dambusters Inn, between 11am and 4pm. There will be bottle tombola, plant stall, metal garden ornaments, cake stall and a variety of classic vehicles on show. There will also be a raffle. Tuesday chat on the first Tuesday of every month at 12 St Mark's Avenue, Cherry Willingham from 10.30am - 12pm. Want a chance to sit and chat or need a change of scene or just a place to be with someone else for a while? Cuppa, cake and company. All are welcome.

Harmony Lincs Chorus are based in Lincoln and rehearse every Tuesday evening at the Priory Academy on Skellingthorpe Road at 7.30pm. They welcome male voices from 18 to 80. At present there are 35 members who build their own performance stage and would love to help anyone who has a village hall or space for them to perform. They are happy to help any organisation raise money either for Children in Need or a charity of their own choice. Waddington History Group meet on the 4th Wednesday of the month at The Hub in Waddington at 7.30pm. There is usually a speaker for about an hour and then a raffle and tea/coffee and biscuits. Sturton by Stow Indoor Bowls Club meet on Monday evenings at the Village Hall at 7pm. Please come and join them for an evening of fun. Experienced or newcomer, all are welcome. Approximately 2 hours with a tea break.

One Accord Voices Saxilby based choir are looking to recruit soprano, alto, tenor and bass voices. It you are interested rehearsals are held on Tuesday mornings (term time) between 10am and 12 noon in the Function Room at the Community Centre on the Memorial Field at the end of William Street, Saxilby. The Hartsholme Hall History Hunt takes place on a daily basis and takes you to points of interest all around the park including Dog Graves, the Stable Block, the Kitchen Gardens, Lady's Walk, the Boat House and many more. Just pick up a leaflet on arrival and start exploring.

Visit Lincolnshire Road Transport Museum for a journey back in time. Various events take place throughout the year and to find out more check their website on lvvs.org.uk. The museum is open on a Sunday from 11am - 4pm and is available for group bookings at other times but only if pre-booked. Call Tuesday or Thursday 10am - 4pm for details. Washingborough & District Friendship Group meet on the first Tuesday of the month from 2 - 4pm. You are more than welcome to join them and have tea and biscuits. Friday Night Jive every Friday at 7pm at The White Hart Hotel, Boston (by the Town Bridge). Complete beginners welcome, singles and couples welcome, two left feet welcome and all ages welcome. This is a fun and friendly class and the cost is just £6.
