Birchwood Gardening Club meet in St Luke's Church Hall, Jasmin Road, Lincoln with doors opening at 7pm and the meeting starting at 7.30. The speaker this month is Peter Savage who comes from Bowdens Nursery in Sticklepath, on the northern edge of Dartmoor in Devon. He will be talking about hostas, ferns, bamboos and agapanthus, plus other plants, including how to show them at their best. There will be a break around 8.15 for a raffle, sale of plants and refreshments. Entry is £4 for visitors and £3 for members. Cash only.


Disney and Musical Bingo at Bar Boulevard in Aswell Street, Louth at 8.30pm. Enjoy a unique twist on bingo where the numbers are replaced with iconic songs from your favourite films and stage shows. You can expect hits from Disney classics, Mamma Mia, Wicked, The Greatest Showman and more. There are 4 rounds with chances to win cash prizes, drinks and goodies. Bassingham Community Emergency & Resiliance Team are a new group looking at ways the community can assist the emergency services and local government to counter a range of hazards. To discover more, and see if you would like to join the team, come along to the Information Morning at the Hammond Hall in Bassingham from 9.30am- 12.30pm. Country Day Party at Home in Park Street, Lincoln from 3 - 8pm. An unforgettable day filled with chart-topping tracks combining the best of the old school and modern country hits. There's a Coldplay Tribute at the Stanhope Hall in Horncastle at 7.30pm when you can experience the magic with the UK's leading Coldplay tribute band. This show will capture the energy and atmosphere of a Coldplay concert and you can expect dazzling musicianship, sing-alongs and a full light and visual show, making it a night to remember. There's a talk entitled The Lancaster Restoration given by Andrew Panton at the Lincolnshire Aviation Heritage Centre, East Kirkby. The talk will be a recap and update on the progress of Avro Lancaster NX611 back to airworthy condition, looking at the original plan for the restoration, the problems encountered, progress so far and the plan going forwards. The event will be held in the NAAFI at 2pm and the talk will be followed by tea and cake. Tickets can be obtained from lincsaviation.co.uk/events.


Lincoln Vintage Clothing Kilo Sale at 16 Guildhall Street from 10am - 5pm. You can search the rails and find the items you want, then get them weighed and pay by cash or card. The price is £15 per kg. Rails are restocked all day and all ages are welcome. It's £1 on the door and under 12s are free.


Saturday 31st January and Sunday 1st February The annual book sale is being held at Nocton Church. There will be a bumper crop of books and jigsaws, and also delicious cakes, scones and sausage rolls. There's also a tombola and it's all in aid of replacing the Victorian roofs on the south side of the church. The sale runs from 10am - 4pm on Saturday and 10am - 3pm on Sunday.

Free scam awareness course in the Dome at Jubilee Park in Woodhall Spa from 12 - 2pm, to help you recognise and understand the most common types of scams. The course will also help you understand the psychological tactics used by scammers and how to evaluate texts, emails etc. It will also show you simple practices to protect yourself. It's led by a scam expert from Barclays Bank and attendees must be 19 or over. Refreshments will be provided. If you're looking to try something new and have fun you can join Horncastle Community Members Squash Club in Hemingby Lane for a Ladies Racketball/Squash Social. Nocton Art Group meet every Tuesday from 1 - 4pm in the Thomas Garrett rooms in Heighington. Sessions cost £4 and a variety of different subjects are covered, including painting with acrylics or water colour, collage and silk painting, or just come and work on your own project. Every Tuesday there's Extra Time Hub - Multi Sport at Skellingthorpe Scouts Hut from 10 - 11.30am. This is a weekly session helping people to stay fit and active and offering the opportunity to try out different sports and activities among friends. Uncaged at The Birdcage in Baggholme Road, Lincoln at 7.30pm. If you read poetry, write flash fiction stories (5 to 8 minutes) or have a stand up comedy slot come and book yourself a slot. The special guest for the evening will be Ian Killen who writes stories about bands, gigs, records, haircuts and clothes.


Lego Fan Evening at Lincoln UTC at 5.30pm. Come along if you're a fan of Lego for a fun-filled evening of Lego activities and competitions, as well as a building area and a chance to socialise with other fans of Lego. Everyone is welcome but please stay if you are bringing your child along.

Lincoln WI meet at 7.15pm for 7.30 at Carholme Road Grandstand when there will be a talk given by Bransby Equine Rescue Centre about the work they do saving horses and other equines. It's free for members and first time guests, otherwise £5.

Society for Lincolnshire History & Archaeology meet at Lincoln Central Library in Free School Lane at 2pm when the speaker will be David Ingleby talking about the Great Northern Railway in Lincolnshire. The talk will cover the origins of the company in the mid 1840s and explore how Lincolnshire played a prominent part in its early days. Nocton Village Readers meet at the Ripon Arms at 7.30pm on the first Thursday of the month. Lincoln Rock n Roll Club are at Brant Road Social Club in Waddington and this month the band is the Ramrods Rockabilly trio playing the original classics and retro rock n roll. It's a haven for dancers of all abilities and a great social evening for all, starting at 9pm and going on till late. Entrance is £10.


Lincoln Vegan Market is taking place in the Cornhill area of the city from 10.30am - 4pm and as usual the event will bring together an incredible selection of vegan street food, vendors, artisan bakers, ethical jewellers, environmental charities and more.


There's an author talk and book signing at Whisby Nature Park when author Michael J Warren will be there giving a fascinating journey into the past through the secrets of place names inspired by birds. His talk will include the story of how he came to Whisby in search of Britain's most northerly nightingale. The cost is £5 per person and please book in advance on visitlincstrust.org.uk/events.


Celebrate the first signs of spring, meeting your guide Fiona at Skellingthorpe Community Centre at 10.30am and then going for a gentle woodland walk through the Old Wood to Old Wood Organic Farm. Disco Inferno live at Moorlands Railway Club on Newark Road in Lincoln at 8pm when you will be taken back to the 70s with some funky disco classics. The cost is £5 for members and £8 for non-members.


Winter Tree ID at Doddington Hall from 10am - 1.30pm. With leaves, flowers and fruit gone it can feel harder to tell one tree from the next but there are still plenty of clues, so join this practical workshop with Guy Petheram and learn how to identify native trees. You will be indoors for around 1.5 hours then head out into the park and woodland for about another 1.5 hours. Please wear a warm coat and boots. Legends of Motown at Southside, Colegrave Street, Lincoln at 6.30pm. This is a high energy tribute show jam packed with all Motown's biggest hits, with stunning vocals and an amazing live band celebrating the music of the iconic and timeless Motown era. it features songs from Marvin Gaye, Stevie Wonder, The Supremes, Smokey Robinson, Martha Reeves and many more. It's Snowdrop Weekend at St Mary's Church in Carlton le Moorland. There will be a path around the churchyard for you to wander along to admire the snowdrops and to read poetry about them, learn about their history and the folklore associated with them. Teas will be available on Sunday 8th from 2 - 4pm. Come along and celebrate the first signs of spring. This event is also taking place on the weekend 14th and 15th February with teas again being served on Sunday 15th.

Lincoln's Craft & Flea Market at University of Lincoln, Brayford Way from 11am - 4pm. This event brings together the best independent makers, collectors, designers and creatives from the area and you can support small businesses by shopping local. There's a wide selection of products including ceramics, candles, jewellery, vintage collections and more and there's truly something for everyone. Sunday 1st February for the whole month
It's Free Kids February at Lincolnshire Wildlife Park in Friskney, Nr Boston. Families are invited to enjoy a budget-friendly day out meeting the animals and creating memories. It's a sanctuary for over 1,000 rescued and rehomed animals and it's also become a leading centre for the care of big cats, endangered mammals and reptiles.
